However, as the public health system was slow in adopting new technologies, we saw an opportunity in the consumer market. We never went into this with the idea of being founders per se, we just wanted to build things that will help women. "

        "answer": "Our journey starts in 2013 when we won the Pioneers Challenge and met Michael Seibel, who later became one of our angel investors. We were really impressed by Michael's stories about the Y Combinator community and decided to apply to the program. The process was fairly vigorous and competitive, but our persistence paid off and we were accepted into the Y Combinator '14 batch. The experience itself was incredibly intense, as we were one of a few foreign, let alone hardware companies in our batch which made us work even harder to adapt to the different business mentality in Silicon Valley. Nonetheless, we successfully completed the program and moved on to fundraising on demo day. We were able to raise a significant portion of our seed round on the spot and immediately after demo day. Despite these challenges, we remained committed to our goals and were able to overcome the obstacles in our path, which made the experience a memorable and incredible one."

This helps us stay updated on each other's progress, find ways to help each other, and take advantage of Y Combinator resources and programs, which have been essential for growing our company and achieving goals."
      },
      {
        "question": "What's the history of your company from getting started until the present day? What were the big inflection points?",
        "answer": "Bellabeat started as a company focused on addressing the lack of attention given to women's wellness in the market with the mission to understand and improve women's health & wellness from a holistic standpoint. Over the years, we have evolved to become a leading solution for women's health and wellness. In 2014, we were a part of the top cohort at Y Combinator and raised a substantial seed round. This was followed by the launch of our flagship product— Leaf Nature, the first wellness tracker designed for women, the following year. In 2019, we introduced a membership program offering personalized health and wellness guidance, further solidifying our position in the market. We continued innovating and in 2021, we launched Ivy, a new wearable device that provides personalized health guidance based on a woman's menstrual cycle and biometric data. Throughout our journey, we made a significant impact, launching various Leaf editions, Time smartwatch, as well as Spring- a smart bottle. We’re proud that our products are not only helping women reach their full potential, but also accompanying them during the most important parts of their lives. "

        "question": "What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?",
        "answer": "Realizing the lack of attention given to women's wellness in the market, we founded Bellabeat with the mission to understand and improve women's health by utilizing the cycle as a focal point of women’s health and wellness. We noticed that women, in pursuit of knowledge about their health & well-being, only relied on information gathered through reading online, joining forums, or visiting their physicians. While these sources are great to educate women, they’re missing a key point that women need in order to understand their bodies on a daily—biofeedback.When creating Ivy and combing it with our personalized programs and cycle input, we wanted to give women the tools they need to understand their bodies every day, receive actionable advice, and see the change for themselves. By delivering timely and appropriate guidance adjusted to the different stages of the menstrual cycle, every individual user’s unique bio-responses, and lifestyle tracked through sensor technology, we’re introducing women to a way of life that is in sync with their natural hormonal rhythm. A way that leads to a healthier lifestyle and a healthier future where women start working with their bodies instead of against them to achieve their wellness goals. "

As an AI company, we focus exclusively on model development rather than hardware. Our models are designed to be general-purpose, adaptable across a wide range of applications. Our flagship development, MindSpeech, is the first supervised AI model to translate imagined speech into text, enabling direct thought-to-language communication. MindSpeech has earned endorsements from leading experts, including Neuralink's former technical strategy head and DARPA’s N3 program lead scientist. Our thought-to-language AI models have the potential for transformative applications in fields such as healthcare, education, and VR/AR and our work has been featured in major publications such as Forbes, The Times, The Telegraph, and Business Insider. MindPortal has over 11 patents filed in the field and is backed by prominent investors such as Y Combinator.\r\n",

        "title": "K-Scale Labs 🤖 Open-source humanoid robots for everyone",
        "tagline": "Meet Stompy, the world's first open-source general-purpose humanoid robot",
        "body": "At [K-Scale Labs](https://kscale.dev/), we are building the world’s first open-source general-purpose humanoid robot.\n\n### The Problem\n\nIn recent years, domains like NLP and computer vision have benefited enormously from the [bitter lesson](http://www.incompleteideas.net/IncIdeas/BitterLesson.html) that general methods that are able to leverage computation are ultimately the most effective. The ability to scrape the internet for large, in-the-wild datasets has brought these fields from working well on academic benchmarks to becoming useful real-world products.\n\nHowever, although [there is evidence](https://robotics-transformer-x.github.io/) that the same scaling laws likely apply to robotics as well, the field is stymied by lack of access to the same large, in-the-wild datasets that work well in other domains, resulting in foundation models with poor cross-embodiment and out-of-distribution generalization. While there has been a [surge of investment](https://agilityrobotics.com/news/2023/opening-robofab-worlds-first-factory-for-humanoid-robotsnbsp-xxna2-g9mhr-rnk52) in trying to grow these datasets, we view the [capital-intensive](https://www.therobotreport.com/figure-raises-70m-to-commercialize-humanoids/), [factory-first](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/figure-announces-commercial-agreement-with-bmw-manufacturing-to-bring-general-purpose-robots-into-automotive-production-302036263.html) approach as unlikely to generate the scale and diversity of data required to make these robotics foundation models match the state-of-the-art seen in other fields.\n\n### Our Solution\n\nWe designed and built a fully-featured humanoid robot that anyone with a 3D printer and some time can build on their own. We are releasing it for anyone to build themself, along with an operating system that will enable the robot to perform basic task and learn from experience.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=79758&key=user_uploads/216598/4ba0e510-77a0-4703-8df4-4d04593c537a)\n\nOur robot, Stompy, is a 4-foot humanoid robot featuring the claw gripper from the recent [Universal Manipulation Interface](https://umi-gripper.github.io/) paper, designed so that each part fits on a 256 × 256 3D printer bed, with a total bill of materials costing less than $10,000. We’re using carbon fiber PAHT, but in principle, any reasonably strong plastic could be used instead. Our actuators are quasi-direct drives with between 6:1 and 8:1 reduction ratios, meaning that all the joints on our robot are low-inertia and back-drivable, with nominal torque values from 3-12 Nm. Each robot features a hot-swappable 48V 15Ah battery pack, which can power it for over an hour.\n\nWe started designing Stompy from scratch shortly after the start of the YC batch. In the last three months, we built five different iterations of the hardware as we’ve ironed out issues with assembly, part reliability, motor torque, and gripper design. Having worked with a number of robots in my professional career, including the Stretch from Hello Robot, the Spot from Boston Dynamics, and the early prototypes of the Optimus from Tesla, I feel confident saying that we have the best general-purpose hardware design for our BOM cost - and we are going to give it away for free.\n\n![Image](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GILolqbaEAAzDUv?format=jpg&name=large)\n\nAdditionally, we have built the software tooling to train policies in simulation, using simulators like Isaac from Nvidia, and translate those policies to the robot. This enables anyone to get started developing models for simple tasks for free. We will also release the VLM we’ve trained in-house as a foundation model for the robot perception stack, enabling developers to learn task-specific policies in a data-efficient manner.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=79758&key=user_uploads/216598/2379dd19-b364-4990-958c-007b258bc1d7)\n\n### About Us\n\nOur CEO ([Ben](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/user/216598/linkedin_redirect?key=f2e912c331dc16e3f6c704008aeced6a0055e4ec)) is a robotics researcher and engineer who has worked on robotics foundation models at Tesla and Meta AI. At Tesla, he wrote the CUDA kernel behind the voxel occupancy network, which served as the first perception foundation model to run in the Optimus. At Meta, his papers on speech and robotics representation learning have been cited over 2000 times.\n\n### Our Ask\n\nIf you are interested in either building, buying, or developing a humanoid robot, please send an email to [ben@kscale.dev](mailto:ben@kscale.dev) with your request. We’re working towards a future where anyone with a few 3D printers and some scrappiness can start a robot factory, and anyone who wants a humanoid robot will be able to get one.",

It runs our AI brain that can navigate, perform physical tasks, interact with people, and reason.\n\n<https://youtu.be/gxRLFx4JjcQ>\n\nThe brain is **completely teachable**: You can prompt it, chat with it, and teach it physical tasks.\n\nIt takes **only 5 minutes** for you to write another prompt for Maurice to behave very differently, for example, performing security at home:\n\n<https://youtu.be/hGK0lIGT49E>\n\n# ⚙️ Under the hood\n\nIn the past 3 months, we created **our brain, an AI orchestrator** leveraging several of the most recent research publications in AI for manipulation, navigation, reasoning and planning.\n\nIt combines **9 different models** to create something that feels innately intelligent - like GPT, Gemini, Claude and Llama (Groq) got a body and learned to move. Maurice **constantly understands its environment**, makes decisions, remembers what is sees and where, and learns from you.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=85667&key=user_uploads/938249/cc03013d-d569-4272-93d8-e7a3c7f0a6b8)\n\n**This system comprises:**\n\n🧠 A **multi-agent** orchestrator running specialized models locally and in cloud 🤖 **Real-time manipulation** models controlled by our own transformers\n\n🦾 A **full data pipeline** to collect arm data, train in the cloud, run inference on the platform\n\n💬 **A 100% interactive platform**, that can be steered vocally or through its prompts\n\n📈 An **eval pipeline** for our brain’s decision making, to progressively make it better\n\nMaurice learns your space, remembers context, and makes autonomous decisions about where, what to do next.\n\n**It’s also ready to build on:**\n\n* **All the compute required** is onboard (uses a Jetson Orin Nano)\n* Shipped with a **teleop arm** to train it quickly\n* **SDK to access the agent**, steer it, give it new functions to call\n\n ![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=85667&key=user_uploads/938249/1459c238-8aff-4226-acec-5c3c3770f57c)\n\n\nAnd as a user, you can customize it, collect data quickly to train it, and even change the hardware.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=85667&key=user_uploads/938249/1039d908-0523-43d5-a70e-8d6d00971063)\n\nThis allows Maurice (and future robots) to learn several kinds of physical tasks.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=85667&key=user_uploads/938249/ed3e71f0-37cb-498d-8448-57f2ebb47178)\n\nFinally, Maurice is already reliable enough for us to do live, autonomous demos!\n\nWe're also developing a larger robot that can reach countertops. Our interoperable software ensures quick capability matching across all future embodiments using the Innate brain.\n\n# Our Ask: Join us into the **future**\n\nWe're making teachable robots accessible to builders now, because we believe it is the right way to tailor robots people want, for a reasonable price. Furthermore, the data we collect along the way, teaching our robots, will be useful for all future robots.\n\nOur first platform is for Silicon Valley builders who want to shape what teachable robots can do. Sign up for our waitlist [on our website.](https://innate.bot)\n\n1. **Join the community:** Builders, if you want to know more, join our Discord and / or get one, send us a DM at [@ax_pey](https://x.com/ax_pey) on X or at [axel@innate.bot](mailto:axel@innate.bot)\n2. **Intro us:** Our AI brain could be useful to an individual or company you know making robots? We’d love to chat!\n3. **I just want to chat! :** Great! Happy to! The best way is still through [X](https://x.com/ax_pey), [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/axel-peytavin/) or [email](https://mailto:axel@innate.bot)!\n\n# Who we are\n\nWe are Vignesh and Axel, two former Stanford grad students and researchers in AI for robotics and AI for HCI. We met almost a year ago working on a previous idea, and through several iterations of this project, we have come to trust our shared abilities to face the hard problems ahead to make general-purpose robotics accessible to everyone.\n\nThis company embodies our vision of bringing a technology that will be a major game-changer for humanity, in the hands of everyone. So that robots are made for humans, taught by humans.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=85667&key=user_uploads/938249/8d097e3a-cf0a-4ef9-ac06-4b6397935231)\n\n_Us, 10mn before a successful live demo of our robot in front of 40 people, fixing an unexpected bug_\n\nThe future of robotics is teachable. "body": "# **tl;dr**\n\nPickle replaces your Zoom camera with a virtual body double that always looks great—even if you're calling in from bed.\n\n# **Why we’re doing this**\n\nDaniel attended 10‑hour Zoom classes daily when he was a medical school student. He experienced extreme Zoom fatigue and discovered that it wasn’t just because he hated listening to boring medicine lectures—it also caused [neurophysiological](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-45374-y) problems. We imagined there must be [countless people](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-zoom-video-commn-encryption-idUSKBN22C1T4/) suffering from the same issue, desperate to escape the Zoom prison.\n\n<https://youtu.be/cCdZX6hxJpI?si=f3RCtpSQiquAbmCs>\n\n# **Who’s using Pickle?**\n\nSince launching Pickle last October, we’ve interviewed over 400 Picklers worldwide. What surprised us was that not only were people experiencing Zoom fatigue from back-to-back meetings, but even those **who wouldn’t turn on their camera** for a single call were using Pickle.\n\nEngineer moms who have to care for their kids, new employees with severe anxiety disorder, and CEOs who want to look professional no matter where they are—all these people found Pickle essential for their daily work. We realized that Pickle isn’t just a vitamin—**it’s a painkiller**.\n\n# **The lowest latency human model**\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=87621&key=user_uploads/2376609/95f16234-6efd-417b-880f-b00310ccbdbd)\n\nWe developed an ultra-fast human model that processes voice input and generates output in **under 0.3 seconds**. This enables a user’s Pickle to lip-sync almost simultaneously with what they say. Moreover, as our user base grows, our model rapidly upgrades thanks to the influx of data.\n\n# **Live together & work 24/7 in Hillsborough**\n\n[Daniel Park](https://www.linkedin.com/in/danielpkl/) - a medical school dropout who built a $2M/year e-commerce business at age 22 while still in medical school\n\n[Emmett Kim](https://www.linkedin.com/in/emmettpkl/) - a CS dropout and a super-generalist in product, design, and engineering, who is also the star of [our viral demo](https://x.com/getpickleai/status/1859284410136465671)\n\n[Sam Yu](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sampkl/) -  our CTO; a summa cum laude CS & EE dropout who built a self‑driving AI model at just 21, is a believer in reinforcement learning, and met Emmett in high school\n\n[Sanio Jung](https://www.linkedin.com/in/saniopkl/) - a former medical doctor and self-taught engineer who developed an AI model for detecting wrist fractures and met Daniel in college\n\n[Chris Kang](https://www.linkedin.com/in/chrispkl/) - a CS dropout and social media expert who created and managed an account that achieved over 100 million views\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=87621&key=user_uploads/2376609/459c0987-33d6-4621-9329-c3ff18d68f0b)\n\n# **Our Ask**\n\nGet your own [Pickle](https://getpickle.ai/)!",

        "tagline": "Enjoy mosquito-free evenings thanks to Tornyol",
        "body": "TLDR We’re eradicating mosquitoes (700k people killed each year) with micro-drones.\n\nHey YC!\n\n[Clovis Piedallu](https://www.linkedin.com/in/clovispiedallu/) and [Alex Toussaint](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alex-toussaint-51a439189/) are building [Tornyol](https://tornyol.com/), **a micro-drone that kills mosquitoes**. We use smartphone microphones, car park assist sensors and some clever DSP and control to transform 40-gram toy drones into mosquito killers. Because these drones are so cheap and fast, we could lower the cost of mosquito control by 100x to enable the eradication of malaria.\n\nOur upcoming product is a micro-drone + base station that patrols your garden 24/7 and eliminates any mosquito in the zone. After a few days of action, you’ll notice that you can enjoy mosquito-free evenings and dinners. Enjoy a mosquito-free life for just $50/month (if you save your spot **right now for just $100**)!\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDa9pFzeJvE\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=95287&key=user_uploads/1250342/2697e87e-51cb-405e-bf8b-e4446880f4cc)\n\n# How it started\n\nAlex has been passionate about ultrasonic sonars for a while, building [one of the first air-gapped ultrasonic phased array sonars.](https://www.alextoussaint.com/2021-04-28_How-I-built-an-ultrasonic-3d-scanner.html) Alex then worked at MBDA Systems, supplier of UK-FR missiles where he did outstanding work in navigation and control. That’s when long-time friend [@Clovis Piedallu](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/user/2515354) and him had the (at first) stupid idea of building mosquito-killing drones. After proving from napkin math that this could lead to mosquito eradication, we got a $28k grant from [Scott Alexander, Vitalik Buterin](https://manifund.org/projects/build-anti-mosqu) and [some big twitter buzz.](https://x.com/alextoussss/status/1778460625196261863) Since, we’ve made enormous strides in the field including the first detection and tracking of a mosquito with an ultrasonic phased array, plus some fancy algorithms which are detailed more [here](https://hackaday.com/2025/03/25/supercon-2024-killing-mosquitoes-with-freaking-drones-and-sonar). We’ve made a lot of progress since in the control department, but can’t share much more without nuking an ongoing patent. The TLDR of that is **we believe we can eradicate mosquitoes from a square kilometer of land with just 10 40-grams drones, slashing the cost of mosquito control by 100x**\n\n# The tech, with a few more details\n\nWe send an ultrasonic pulse using a regular ultrasonic transmitter (the one you can find in the HC-SR04 arduino modules, or on cark park assist sensors) then listen for the echoes using an array of smartphone microphones. This phased array of smartphone microphone allows us to get a directional recording of all echoes in the scene. To classify the echoes, we plot a spectrogram of the echoes as a function of time. Whenever a mosquito beats its wings, the movement produces irregular doppler effect. By measuring that alternating doppler effect, we get a 2D image that’s unique to each mosquito. We then detect the species and sex of the target we have in front of us. Here’s what these signatures look like.\n\n**Wasp (phase, STFT, FFT)**\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=95287&key=user_uploads/1250342/e34717d5-91b3-435f-b7b3-33eacfa00d77)\n\n**Mosquito (phase, STFT, FFT)**\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=95287&key=user_uploads/1250342/21bf0588-a122-48c8-9a62-60426d8e7b94)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=95287&key=user_uploads/1250342/8bb71855-e1f9-4ea0-922f-06da6690c1c5)\n\nOur phased array sonar (Xilinx XC7A100T and 380 PDM Microphones). We’ve miniaturized it since.\n\nThen, by using some very clever control algorithms, we ram our autonomous tinywhoop into the mosquitoes and away from the walls.\n\n# Our current development status\n\nMost systems are working in isolation, and we’re doing a push to have them all working together. Our miniaturized DSP+Controls processor is currently in the PCB factory, and all algorithms have been tested either on separate benches or in simulation. We’re currently killing mosquitoes in simulation, and are working hard to kill them in the real world.\n\n# Asks\n\nMosquitoes are a terrible problem worldwide **700k people killed each year, 700M catching a mosquito-borne disease and 4 billion people at risk of Dengue**.\n\nWe’re looking for early adopters for who mosquitoes are a big nuisance to proof-test our first drones when they work before we deploy them to areas where failure’s not an option. If that sounds like you, please pre-order and enjoy all the perks (limited edition color, 30% discount) that come from our small $100 refundable reservation.\n\n# CTA\n\n[tornyol.com](http://tornyol.com): $100 refundable deposit to get exclusive, early and discounted acess to our solution.\n\n[founders@tornyol.com](mailto:founders@tornyol.com):\\_for any contacts to big businesses, government entities and NGOs who could be clients.\n\nLooking forward to your questions!\n\n[Clovis Piedallu](https://www.linkedin.com/in/clovispiedallu/) and [Alex Toussaint](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alex-toussaint-51a439189/) for a mosquito-free world.",

        "body": "Strength training is gaining traction in both the longevity community and academia, where growing evidence links muscle mass and strength to lower all-cause mortality — yet existing wearables are failing to deliver a seamless strength tracking experience. Fort is **building a screenless wearable that detects strength training and fatigue** while also tracking sleep, cardio, and overall health in an all-day worn device.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=98029&key=user_uploads/3343572/6f0f58e4-335c-4f2b-b2b0-bb098aa6cde3)\n\n**Co-founder Story**: My name is Zac. I met Miranda at a squat rack in Fitness SF - a little over a year later we got engaged. I met Paul in university where we designed, built, and raced electric vehicles. Paul and I worked at Tesla for the next 4-5 yrs doing much of the same. I introduced Miranda to Paul in late 2024, knowing that he wanted to work on something new, and Fort was born. I worked on the nights/weekends with Miranda and Paul prototyping designs until Fort occupied most of my mind share, joining full time in December ‘25.\n\nWe have a tight knit team that has experience shipping hardware at scale and a strong belief that (1) improving human health is the greatest technological frontier in the age of AI and (2) consumer devices will have a meaningful impact in people’s wellness.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=98029&key=user_uploads/3343572/a1b5506e-26b6-4b5b-bd45-a33ad15c50c8)\n\n**New Form Factor**: The product we first introduced on BF (our beta prototype) has evolved to a sleeker, smarter, more mature design featuring three finishes: _Gold_, _Black_, and _Silver_ using premium materials in a form factor that disappears into your life.\n\nWhether you are wearing it in the gym or out to dinner, we want it to be something that you actually want to wear and blend seamlessly with other jewelry but be lightweight enough to wear in the gym.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=98029&key=user_uploads/3343572/197389c4-4d80-448e-9c16-8999c0029a64)\n\n**New Website:** We’ve revamped our website explaining the use case of Fort, the value proposition centered around strength tracking capabilities “**This Wearable Actually Tracks Strength**”. In addition to detailed strength data, the Fort App also features insights into cardio, stress, and sleep, showing how they are all interconnected: “Learn how your lifestyle affects your strength, and what metrics move the needle on your strength progress”.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=98029&key=user_uploads/3343572/7c19300b-5953-4a8b-8a17-db1663fb8553)\n\nFor a limited time, pre-order sales are discounted to $289 to the general public (starting $349) which includes the production device + 1 year of software. This discounted pre-order campaign will be capped at 1,000 pre-orders before we move to MSRP - [**https://www.fort.cx/#pricing**](https://www.fort.cx/#pricing)**.**",

Fort is a wearable that automatically tracks strength training, for people focused on longevity.\n\n**We just opened pre-orders!** [**fort.cx/order**](http://fort.cx/order)\n\n<https://youtu.be/qU0IWkdsgY4>\n\n**Setting The Scene**\n\nStrength training has exploded in popularity over the past decade, especially recently. Whoop’s own data shows that strength workouts on their platform [**increased 122% YoY**](https://www.whoop.com/us/en/thelocker/whoop-year-in-review-2025/?srsltid=AfmBOoqLaNJlnaNn6uXWcFH8qfuk0ZRdry97kTI07R10adtOEx1jAR5H) between 2024 and 2025. For female Oura members, strength training was the [**third most popular**](https://ouraring.com/blog/oura-member-data-reveals-top-fitness-activities-among-female-members/?srsltid=AfmBOopcf5eXLLjOArvhBtKWvDVyd_oGxHgg2pOPhG3B7e5gHl9ME4Pb) activity, behind “walking” and “housework.” People now see strength training as a critical part of their wellness routine, not just a niche hobby for gym bros.\n\nAnd yet, neither Whoop nor Oura offers a strength tracking feature that actually works.\n\n**The Problem**\n\nIf you want to track strength workouts on existing wearables, you typically need to manually log every set, rep, and exercise. There are some attempts at automatic rep and exercise detection from Garmin and third-party Apple Watch apps, but the experience of using these products is unrefined compared to cardio or sleep features.\n\nEven after logging everything manually, wearables underestimate or ignore muscle fatigue, and lack actionable insights on how users should adapt their training to achieve their goals.\n\n**What we're building**\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=97385&key=user_uploads/1251673/343e5478-aeaf-426d-98a0-b04ac5978c5d)\n\n\nFort is a wearable that measures motion and heart rate to detect exercises, reps, sets, form, and fatigue that occurs while strength training. The device is a screenless band that can be worn on the wrist, attached magnetically to workout equipment, or worn with body straps elsewhere, so we can capture movements that wrist-only wearables miss.\n\nWe also track steps, sleep, heart rate, and cardio exercise, to provide you with a comprehensive picture of your health.\n\nYou can wear Fort all day, and the battery lasts a week with normal use.\n\n**Who it’s for**\n\nAnyone who cares about their health and regularly does some form of strength training, like gym or pilates!\n\n**About us**\n\n[Paul](https://www.linkedin.com/in/paulcschneider/), [Zac](https://www.linkedin.com/in/zacvalles/), and [Miranda](https://www.linkedin.com/in/mirandanover/) are ex-Tesla engineers who worked on Cybertruck, Semi, and Cybercab. We know how to build and ship consumer hardware at scale.\n\n**Fort is shipping starting June 2026. "title": "Datost - The most accurate AI data analyst",
        "tagline": "A proactive AI data analyst with a built in semantic layer that actually understands your business",
        "body": "Hey everyone — This is Maceo and Jason, founders of Datost.\n\n**TL;DR:** Datost is an AI data analyst your team @mentions in Slack. It keeps a semantic layer of your business definitions so it understands what questions mean before writing SQL. On the hardest public text-to-SQL benchmark, it scores 75.2%. The best frontier model alone gets 33%.\n\n**Why I built this**\n\nWe saw the problem while I was at Traba, a staffing marketplace. Traba had a lot of data and not enough analysts. Someone would need a number to make a decision, and the path to that number ran through SQL they couldn’t write or an analyst who was busy. The question would sit for hours. By the time the answer showed up, the decision had already been made on a guess.\n\nThere are AI analytics tools out there now. They all have the same problem: they don’t understand your business. When your PM asks “which accounts are at risk of churning,” there’s no column called that. “At risk” has a formula that lives in someone’s head, or a doc, or nowhere. These tools guess an interpretation and commit. Then someone in a Slack thread acts on the answer before anyone checks whether it was right.\n\n**The semantic layer**\n\nDatost maintains a layer of your team’s definitions, what “churn risk” means at your company, how you calculate NRR, which tables are trustworthy, what that internal acronym stands for.\n\nWhen it hits a term it hasn’t seen, it looks it up the same way a new analyst would ask a coworker. When the semantic layer doesn’t have it either, it asks the user before writing any SQL.\n\nIt learns from mistakes too. When it gets something wrong, it leaves notes on the schema so it doesn’t make the same mistake twice. Teams that have been using it for a few months barely correct it anymore.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=99800&key=user_uploads/3433862/f456e145-3c20-47ed-b570-06e70b3c6cda)\n\n**What it actually does**\n\nYour team @mentions Datost in any Slack channel. It searches the semantic layer, explores your schema in a sandbox, writes and tests SQL, then posts the answer in-thread with the work shown. A second model reviews every answer read-only. If the definition says one thing and the SQL does another, the reviewer catches it.\n\nIt also runs on its own. You can set it up to post a pipeline coverage update to #sales every Monday, or flag when a metric moves outside a range you care about. Or if youre old fashioned it can make a beautiful dashboard for you :)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=99800&key=user_uploads/3433862/f5c22b08-a608-47cd-a986-785487b6935e)\n\nIt connects to Postgres, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks. Also Datadog, Sentry, PostHog, Coda, Notion, GitHub, and anything else via MCP. It reads your Slack history to see how things were answered before. It reads your codebase to understand how a metric is actually calculated. Charts, dashboards, PDFs, exports, whatever format you need. Most answers come back in under a minute.\n\n**The benchmark**\n\nWe ran Datost against BIRD-Interact, the hardest public text-to-SQL benchmark. 600 deliberately ambiguous questions across 22 messy and realistic PostgreSQL databases, published at ICLR 2026. Every question uses terms that aren’t in the schema.\n\nClaude Opus 4.6, the model Datost runs on, gets 33% on its own. Datost scored 75.2%. Same model. The gap is the semantic layer. On analytical questions, 91%.\n\nFull breakdown here: <https://datost.com/blog/bird-interact>\n\n**Ask**\n\nIf your team has a Slack, Teams, or Google Chat workspace and data people keep asking about, we can get you running in a day.\n\n* [**Book a call**](https://datost.cal.com/founders/30-min)\n* Email me or Jason: [maceo@datost.com](mailto:maceo@datost.com) or [jason@datost.com](mailto:jason@datost.com)  \n* Or reply here\n\n<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIxir5wtX44>",

        "body": "**Early Access Sign Up** - [**www.anoria.com**](http://www.anoria.com)\n\n<https://youtu.be/xnOjtP4qIgk>\n\nTechnology has taken all of our attention, and AI has commoditized intelligence. Understanding how we feel and why has never been harder or more valuable.\n\nWe've become obsessed with tracking everything: sleep, recovery, performance. All proxies for how we feel.\n\nPerformance is 90% mental. And yet, no one has built the feedback loop for our emotions.\n\n**What we’re building**\n\nAnoria is a bracelet that reads your emotional state in real time. We call this your Flow Score, built from your Energy, Mood, and Focus.\n\nIt's powered by SOMI, our state-of-mind inference model, which uses a deep neuroscience framework to correlate 150 audio and biometric signals to surface what you're feeling, why, and what to do about it _(listen to a track by Eminem, call your friend Alex…)_.\n\nWith a tight enough feedback loop, emotional intelligence becomes trainable, and your flow state repeatable.\n\n**Who is it for?**\n\nWe’re building this for founders and creatives. People who understand that their state of mind is their most important asset.\n\n**Development Status**\n\nTwo months in, a handful of users are wearing our first prototypes in the wild. They see their Flow Score in real time, and watch it shift with the people they talk to, the apps they use, the meetings they have, and the music they listen to.\n\n**About us**\n\nI spent five years designing iPhones at Apple, most recently leading the iPhone 17 Pro enclosure. I learned what it means to be obsessive about every detail and still ship 100 million devices a year.\n\nFor a decade, I've been obsessed with one question: can human emotion be scientifically understood and quantified?\n\nI built Anoria as a solo founder. Today, an incredible five-person team of ex-Apple and ex-Meta engineers and repeat founders is building it with me. We're going all in on technology that makes self-awareness tangible, and helps us reconnect.",
