"tagline": "We help retailers sell clean energy products by using government & utility rebates to offer dramatically lower prices at checkout",
"body": "# tl;dr\n\nUpfront helps merchants that sell clean energy products by turning billions of dollars of rebates into dramatically lower prices at checkout. Instead of filling out paperwork and waiting 6 months for a check, our software instantly applies rebates and manages the settlement in the background.\n\n# The Problem\n\nClean energy products have higher upfront costs while competing in markets defined by the importance of affordability (e.g. 60% of appliances are financed). Rebates are designed to offset these higher costs, but because rebates are complicated and not surfaced during buying decisions, consumers today choose products that are worse for both the environment and their wallets.\n\n# The Solution\n\nWe solve this problem by partnering with retailers to enable them to transform government and utility rebates into dramatically lower prices for their customers. This solution saves consumers money, increases retailer sales, and helps deploy rebates faster than ever.\n\nStarting with EV Chargers, we qualify consumers for all applicable rebate programs in real-time and advance their savings at checkout. After purchase, we work with the consumer to process the rebate and manage the settlement with the rebate issuer.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=69740&key=user_uploads/1202385/15a9b94d-59cc-4ebd-9cd8-2e27ba1df34a)\n\n# The Team\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=69740&key=user_uploads/1202385/124cba11-ebdf-48b4-b7c4-56a3fa67421a)\n\nWe’ve both spent the last half decade helping merchants grow their businesses. Andrew was an engineer at Affirm, building servicing and payment systems scaling to billions of dollars in GMV. Thomas launched and GM’d markets for DoorDash both domestically and abroad. \n\nAs new homeowners we were both struggling to figure out what rebates were available and how they actually worked… and we’d spent weeks researching climate tech! Fellow consumers and retailers agreed, so in January of 2023, we started Upfront.\n\nWe're determined to help make clean energy products the obvious choice for consumers to stamp out the nearly 1 gigaton of CO2E emitted from America’s 124 million homes annually.\n\n# The Ask\n\n* If you sell a product that receives government and/or utility rebates (especially EV chargers)–we’d love to chat! [Book some time with us here.](https://calendly.com/thomas-upfront/upfront-intro-call)\n* Know folks in the EV charger space? Let’s connect! Reach out to [thomas@knowupfront.com](mailto:thomas@knowupfront.com) with any relevant intros.\n\nWe'd love to hear your feedback in the comments below! Also feel free to reach out to us directly at [thomas@knowupfront.com](mailto:thomas@knowupfront.com) or [andrew@knowupfront.com](mailto:andrew@knowupfront.com).",

We then deploy trained, full-time employees to paint our customers’ homes.\n\n**The Problem**\\\nToday, it’s hard for homeowners to locate and hire home service providers, because contractors don’t use technology and rely on outdated employment models to operate their businesses.\n\nAs a result, the process for homeowners to complete any home project is riddled with challenges - from tediously searching for a reputable contractor, to coordinating multiple walkthroughs of their home, reviewing quotes, selecting a provider, agreeing to terms, scheduling the work, and enduring price and timeline changes before the work is finally completed - each step is frustratingly manual, unpredictable, and outdated.\n\n**The Solution**\\\nAt Craftwork, our coupling of a vertically integrated business model with best-in-class software allows us to deliver an unparalleled experience to homeowners.\n\nOur unique approach puts homeowners in control - from getting an estimate online with transparent pricing, to scheduling their projects and exploring our color selection tools, to meeting the team that will paint their homes and understanding what to expect when we arrive - we’re establishing a standard of transparency, accountability, and trust that simply can’t be matched.\n\nAs homeowners we’ve experienced first-hand just how difficult it can be to hire quality contractors. We believe that by building software to simplify the homeowner experience and streamline internal operations, we’ll disrupt the $500B+ home services market and grow to become the largest residential general contractor in the country.\n\n**The Team**\\\nWe’re all former founders and early-stage team members with experience successfully scaling operations-heavy technology startups.\n\n* Tim is a two-time YC founder whose last startup [Odeko](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/12565) (S19) is currently #115 on Y Combinator’s list of [top companies](https://www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies/valuation).\n* Mike was the founder of [Smpl](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/smpl-llc), a co-working management app that was acquired in 2020.\n* Suzanne led people operations at two YC startups - [Plato](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/1048) (W16) and [CareRev](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/company/1188) (S16) - where she managed large scale team growth.\n* Joey built and sold his OOH advertising company before scaling [Zoomo](https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/bolt-bikes) from a seed-stage company to the global leader in their category.\n\n**The Ask**\\\nIf you have friends or family in the Charlotte, NC area we would really appreciate you sharing Craftwork with them. We’re offering $100 off when homeowners book a project with us by August 31st - they can go to [craftwork.com/summer](http://craftwork.com/summer) to get an estimate for their projects!\n\n**Read more on** [**Axios**](https://charlotte.axios.com/334157/charlotte-tech-startup-at-y-combinator-raises-4-million/?fbclid=IwAR0Y850wsC9Weyxi1vKuQ4P3No9Wutt0bHxvZ8CiN9jct_ir9rs72o59144_aem_AVkl16No6389ZDQC1Dxg81tOtEZknW5_9D3uqrNuctS7ZyWOxUVX0Hic-xuW1qk3l2I&mibextid=Zxz2cZ)",

"body": "**TL;DR** 👋\n\nFeldy is field-first AI for home service companies. It unifies jobsite capture, 3D building scans, estimates, and field documentation in one simple app.\n\nWe’ve grown to over 200 paying customers on the web over the last few months, and are now launching the mobile app so field teams can use the full product on site.\n\nZayne and Shelby are construction software veterans with a combined 10+ years building computer vision and spatial AI tools.\n\n**Meet Feldy:**\n\n<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0lEF7isKg4>\n\n**The Problem:**\n\nThe biggest problem in residential home services in 2026 is still remarkably simple: estimates do not go out fast enough to homeowners.\n\nAn estimate is the quote a homeowner receives explaining what work will be done and how much it will cost. Yet, if you call a window contractor, or painter, it can still take two or three days, often longer, to receive one. Over the last 8 months, my home became a test bed for remodeling projects, and this is one of the few truths that persisted. This problem appears in nearly every trade we encountered.\n\n_So why so long?_\n\nThe surprising part is that many of these estimates are not inherently complicated.\n\nConsider a typical window and door contractor. A sales representative drives to the property, walks through the home, identifies every window and door, photographs existing conditions, and asks discovery questions:\n\n* Do you want to replace the trim?\n* Should the opening change?\n\nCapturing this information can easily consume most of a one- or two-hour appointment. By the time the rep understands the property and records everything the office needs, there is _very little time left_ to actually sell the project. This is the primary reason quotes arrive days later, or require a second visit.\n\nFurthermore, existing software makes the problem worse.\n\nMost contractor tools have always been structured like digital forms. The software records what the estimator has already figured out, but it does very little to help figure out the job.\n\nThis is what led us to ask: what does this contractor world look like if the software recorded and figured out the job at once? Well, that’s Feldy.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=110395&key=user_uploads/1494934/6bdd00aa-4517-41c6-897e-517110044d2b)\n\n**So how do we solve this?**\n\nInstead of requiring the person in the field to manually observe and organize everything, Feldy uses in-house computer vision and vision-language models to perform much of this _low-value work_: necessary technical work that consumes the majority of the job visit time, but creates little visible value for the homeowner.\n\nThe contractor _captures_ the property via photos/videos, lidar scans, or job walkthroughs (video and audio are combined). Feldy then interprets the capture and helps turn it into an estimate amongst a host of other workflow items such as inspection reports, proposals, materials lists, etc.\n\nThe entire thesis behind Feldy can be summed up as:\n\n_How do we remove the time-consuming thinking required from the estimator that creates little visible value for the homeowner?_\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=110395&key=user_uploads/1494934/060ca1ad-5038-40a5-868f-fb14eb04b164)\n\n**The Scale of the bottleneck**\n\nAngi’s list has estimated that American households undertake more than 700 million home projects annually.\n\nUsing 600 million estimates (aggressive case):\n\n* 600M estimates \\* 3.5 hours = 2.1 billion total labor hours\n* 50% spent on measuring, documenting, takeoff, and estimate construction = 1.05 billion hours\n* At $45–50 fully loaded cost = $47–53 billion in annual labor capacity tied up in that work\n\nIf Feldy reclaims 1–1.25 hours per estimate:\n\n* 750 million hours returned\n* Roughly $27–37 billion in productive capacity per year.\n\nFor the average home-services company, this is equivalent to reclaiming $50,000–$100,000+ in capacity each year, capacity that can be converted directly into more estimates, lower overhead, and higher revenue.\n\n**The Team**\n\nZayne and Shelby met at UC Berkeley’s engineering school nearly 10 years ago. For the last three years, they have worked side by side building technology for the construction and home-services industries.\n\nTogether, they previously took a construction-software company from zero to $500k ARR in months. \n\nThe pair is more excited than ever to build the next generation of software for home-service businesses.\n\n**The ask**\n\nIf you know anyone who works in home services, tell them about Feldy and ask them to download the app!\n\nSearch Feldy AI on [IOS ](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/feldy-ai/id6780327228)and [Android ](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.feldy.app)app stores.\n\n* You can reach us directly at [**zayne@feldy.ai**](mailto:zayne@feldy.ai)\n* To learn more about Feldy visit us at our [feldy ai](https://feldy.ai/?utm_source=yc&utm_medium=launch&utm_campaign=feldy_launch_campaign_2026&utm_content=first_launch_post) website",

"body": "**TL;DR**\n\n[Aether](https://aetherenergie.com/) offers an AI-powered end-to-end platform for rooftop solar installers. We combine advancements in computer vision/lidar and LLMs to bring a unique workflow automation tool for solar installers worldwide.\n\n## Before we start, a sneak peek at Aether:\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=79053&key=user_uploads/1527633/4dd1fd38-1a6f-42f1-b8b8-1ad5d62ea174)\n\n## Some Background\n\n---\n\nHey all, we’re [Shelby Bons](https://linkedin.com/in/shelby-bons-ucberkeley) and [Zayne Sagar](https://linkedin.com/in/zaynesager), two climate entrepreneurs! Our fundamental mission is to make rooftop solar energy accessible and cheap throughout the world.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=79053&key=user_uploads/1527633/561a67f7-4f40-419e-af7f-2ff7557ac5b7)\n\nFor rooftop solar to be deployed, it’s really up to solar installers. To us, the people who run these companies are our heroes. Last year we spoke to hundreds of solar installers and one thing is clear - they don’t have the tools to make them successful. We reimagined rooftop solar software from the ground up for them.\n\nAether _automates the boring stuff for solar installers using AI_.\n\n## **❌** The Problem:\n\nThe biggest problem in US rooftop solar is still solar soft costs. These are non-hardware costs associated with a solar project, and they amount to north of 60% of the total solar cost of an installed system! If you reduce this you create more demand for rooftop solar in the market = better outcome for our planet.\n\n**Contributors to high soft costs:**\n\n* **PV CAD Design teams still manually build rooftop PV site designs**. This is time-consuming and prone to lots of errors. Mistakes here mean re-doing plansets and permitting which can cost $1k - $2k extra.\n* **Almost all solar design tools are inaccurate in production and consumption modeling**. This is what tells rooftop owners “Is this the right investment for me?” Most solar tools were built as a sidekick for sales reps, with just enough basic estimates to sell a solar proposal. Consumers are smarter now and recent legal litigations are forcing better modeling to be done when selling solar.\n* **Dependency on multiple platforms:** Most solar companies use a software stack of 6 - 10 point solutions. Collectively the solution is dumb and creates chaotic workflows where deals get lost and project delays happen a lot. This is very expensive.\n* **Lack of project visibility across teams** causing lost sales deals, and project delays\n\nWe estimate $5k to $ 7k added soft costs for a typical rooftop project occurring because of the above.\n\n## **✅** Solution:\n\n**Aether is built to streamline the rooftop solar workflow end to end. Think Procore or Veeva but for Solar with an AI twist.**\n\nWith Aether, solar companies can rapidly generate PV site designs, sell using a beautiful PV proposal, and then manage it to installation in one simplified workflow.\n\nAether is made up of hubs that help specific roles in a solar installation company do their job, but more importantly, collaborate with other teams as needed with the help of AI.\n\n**Our two core innovations:**\n\n* We built an in-house computer vision model.\n* We also decided to build a mini fine-tuned model for solar. Being trained on items such as system production data, vision model outputs, etc. (Can’t give the rest of our sauce away!)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=79053&key=user_uploads/1527633/a0dc44ab-bc4f-498d-bc2d-7318a4751d70)\n\n**The result is a unified AI platform to streamline solar with solar agents.**\n\n[Aether Platform - Sneak Peak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFJuKOI8kEs&feature=youtu.be)\n\n**💲Opportunity:** Aether will be a big player in the young and emerging Solar software vertical, which has a projected 20B Global TAM up for grabs by 2025.\n\n## About Us\n\n_Shelby and Zayne met at UC Berkeley close to a decade ago both originally being born in complete opposite ends of the world, France and Fiji._\n\n_Shelby studied Materials Science and Engineering at UC Berkeley and was briefly headed for a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics before founding Aether. She has worked at Dolby Laboratories, Voltaiq, and Sunrun in Data Science & Machine Learning roles._\n\n_Zayne had brief stints at multiple climate-driven companies, working on problems around space-based weather data and energy modeling problems at the intersection of software. He has built high-performing product & engineering teams from the ground up by the age of 28._\n\n## **🙏** Our Ask:\n\n* Please share this post with your network, and tell solar installers about us!\n* If you are a rooftop solar installer, check us out at <https://aetherenergie.com/> and book a demo with us!\n* If you’re as excited as we are about this novel approach to solar software and would like to learn more about what we’re doing, comment below or email us at [zsagar@aetherenergy.me](mailto:zsagar@aetherenergy.me)\n\n**💲Early adopter discount**: We’re giving solar installers 50% off whatever design tool they currently pay for.",

"body": "TL;DR: [Terrakotta](https://www.terrakotta.ai/) is a web-phone that uses personalized AI voicemails to double the number of contacts you can engage over the phone. Voicemails left using Terrakotta are personalized to every contact and generate more callbacks than generic scripts.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=79253&key=user_uploads/1032568/e407487e-18cb-4c20-b6ba-0c2257e42252)\n\n👋Hey Everyone! We’re Kus, Vincent, and Gabe (from left to right) and we are the founders of Terrakotta. Terrakotta lets users leverage their unique voice (yes, their literal voice) to grow their business. We’re calling it ‘voice nurture’.\n\n**Problem**\n\nVoicemail is a great growth channel to generate interest and callbacks from leads, but historically it hasn’t scaled well. Leaving voicemails during call sessions is: \n\n* Time-consuming\n* Repetitive\n* Tiring\n\n \n\n**Solution: ☎️⚡️Here’s what a call session looks like in Terrakotta⚡️☎️**\n\nWith Terrakotta users can clone their voice, load up a contact list, and set a dynamic AI voicemail script that will be personalized for unanswered calls. From there, users can flip on the auto-dial feature and zoom through their call list, reaching up to 100 contacts/hour.\n\n![](https://lh7-us.googleusercontent.com/BPwVoxEx28ZdtBWjg-vbJvTtJ3SncmfG5Y2vNv-DYP0X7qPheGSAbrc5TMvgnmDEt2N_oyJtj8d5GCCZQyDy5yPi3n_qB6dmfGEwooFBt4v1-97h87uaAX-X0-Ktx6i3VLfrnLYdDic7lzURlNuhyxs)\n\n_(Don’t worry: the contacts are not real people; the phone numbers are our many test lines)_\n\n**About the squad**\n\n* [**Vincent**](https://linkedin.com/in/vincent-wilson-5105141b7) was an incoming Software Engineer at Palantir before dropping out of college to found Terrakotta.\n* [**Kus**](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kusiima-boswell-84a1a5151) was a Senior Analyst at McKinsey where he wrote custom data solutions and advised principal investors / GTM execs on strategy. \n* [**Gabe**](https://linkedin.com/in/gabriel-wilson-2b480914b) was a software engineer for Lyft Business and Human Interest (S15).\n\n \n\nWe (strangely) have lots of friends in commercial real estate, and the number one thing they complain about is making outbound phone calls. We’re using our experience with software development and GTM in different contexts to take on this problem in commercial real estate and prove the ability of voice nurture as a growth channel.\n\n**Our asks**\n\n* **If you’re making lots of cold calls and want to do it more efficiently** - try it out!: <https://www.terrakotta.ai/>\n* **Get in touch with us** **if you’re looking for new channels** like voicemail to grow your business\n* **Give us feedback on what you think of the voice-cloning feature - how accurate do you think it is?**\n\n[Email us](mailto:vincent@terrakotta.ai) if you want to check it out.\n\nOr schedule a demo here \n\nThanks for reading!",

Half the cost of any given home service is attributed to compensating the work it took just to coordinate that job. We believe that can and should be solved for. Owners need to (and prefer to) remain focused on “the real work” instead of non-value driving efforts. Businesses in this industry provide an essential service to our economy - they maintain our supply of housing - but they are operated in an incredibly manual and wasteful way. We solve that with AI receptionists that can coordinate with each of the parties at every stage in the process. The receptionists can then work with our AI estimators to provide quotes, and together they can use our CRM, project management, and payment solutions to store updates and take action throughout the process."

"answer": "There are many elements that contribute to the inflated cost of housing and they impact everyone from the homeless, to renters, to homeowners, and investors. An often-overlooked contributor to this cost is the high opEx in owning and maintaining a home. The most wasteful element of that expenditure is not materials or labor - it is compensating businesses for their administrative work (finding, quoting, managing, and coordinating jobs). My dream is to cut out those inefficiencies by bringing true automation to the home service industry. In doing so, we as a society can take a step towards better, more accessible housing."

"body": "### **\\~TLDR\\~**\n\nResidential contractors are drowning in office work that has nothing to do with their core business. [**Drillbit**](https://www.drillbit.com) automates all of it. We use AI receptionists and an LLM based quoting tool on top of our own CRM to entirely manage jobs from lead, to quote, to scheduling, to staffing, and finally payment.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=82558&key=user_uploads/1549700/acbc535d-4709-4176-a54f-8fe50c23a170)\n\n### **Problem🚨**\n\nResidential contractors provide a critical service to our economy: building and maintaining the supply of housing. Unfortunately, those businesses are still operated in an incredibly manual way. Across the U.S., we spend about $675B/year on simple home maintenance. A significant portion of that cost is attributed to the office work involved with finding, coordinating, and managing those small jobs. Business owners need to (and prefer to) remain focused on the real work instead of non-value-driving efforts.\n\n### **Solution 🏗️**\n\n[**Drillbit**](https://www.drillbit.com) allows contractors to be entirely hands-off, enabling them to focus 100% of their time on their core business. We have built AI receptionists that can coordinate with businesses and homeowners at every stage in the process. The receptionists then work with our AI estimators to provide quotes. Together, they are able to use our CRM, project management, and payment solutions to store updates and take action throughout the process.\n\n### **Landscape ⛰️**\n\nPlatforms that have come before us were able to move service business operations from texting and emailing over to CRMs and project management solutions, but they suffer from massive churn rates. Owners we have spoken with have consistently voiced the feeling that they were “babysitting” the tool. All of that “homework” they had to do entirely undermined the value of the solution in their eyes, and so, most users would abandon the platform. Rather than expecting our users to change their behavior - ie. start using technology that they would rather not be interacting with - we have met them where they are by handling the job coordination in a way that feels familiar to them: offering the ability to talk to your “employees” on the phone like you would a real person, and having those “employees” be able to engage with homeowners over the phone like real people would too.\n\n### **Team 👷👷‍♂️**\n\n[**Alex**](https://www.linkedin.com/in/aseutin) (Stanford CS / AI) spent the first part of his career developing applied AI solutions at SpaceX, Apple, and Rivian. After some time developing robots for industrial construction projects, Alex found a passion for hands-on work and spent a few years renovating old homes and airstreams. During that time, Alex became intimately familiar with the pain points in the construction and home service industries and realized how much of a need there was for better, more automated software. At that point, he decided to merge his passions and set out to build [**Drillbit**](https://www.drillbit.com) to support the folks maintaining America's housing.\n\n![](https://bookface.ycombinator.com/media/?type=post&id=82558&key=user_uploads/1549700/69e0cd13-9458-4048-b7b6-62938dffa061)\n\n### **Ask 🙏**\n\nThe platform has been built, and now we are looking to drive revenue. If you know of any business owners in the industry (plumbers, electricians, house cleaners, lawn care providers, landscapers, tilers, roofers, etc) please introduce us at [**alex@drillbit.com**](mailto:alex@drillbit.com) 🙂\n\n### **Links 🔗**\n\nIn the meantime, we’d love it if you followed our journey:\n\n* [**Company LinkedIn Page**](https://www.linkedin.com/company/98805941/)\n* [**Alex’s LinkedIn Page**](https://www.linkedin.com/in/aseutin/)\n\n& finally, check out our website!\n\n[**https://www.drillbit.com**](https://www.drillbit.com/)\n\nDemo Video:\n\n[**https://youtu.be/bTIP5pk-Ldo**](https://youtu.be/bTIP5pk-Ldo)",

"title": "pap! — Automatic refunds for consumers",
"tagline": "We automate refunds for consumers when they shop, fly, travel, subscribe… and live.",
"body": "**TLDR:** Every year, consumers miss out on more than **$50B** because they are not claiming the money they are entitled to. We built AI agents that claim it for them.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=83836&key=user_uploads/1984796/7093e028-b7ff-4ac4-9942-f98c49b9d002)\n\n# The Problem 🚩\n\nWhen stuff you’ve already bought goes on sale or when flights you’ve booked are delayed, policies entitle you to money. But spotting these opportunities and claiming the cash you’re owed is time-consuming and confusing. Industries subject to such policies include retail, airlines, hotels, technology, and even the government.\n\n# Our Solution 💸\n\nWe're building AI that connects to your email inbox to: scan your e-receipts, identify opportunities to get you dollars, and automatically claim them by contacting customer service via email, phone, forms, or chat.\n\nWe started by automating refunds in the shopping industry and have secured $6,650, growing **233% MoM**. With AI, we've been able to generalize that same automation to tackle refunds in the flight industry and the class-action lawsuit landscape. That’s when we understood why this had never been done before…\n\n# Why now? 🚨\n\nAI enables us, for the first time, to automatically:\n\n1. **Reason about unstructured data at scale**\n2. **Handle complex, nuanced customer service interactions**\n\n \n\nGeneralizing securing refunds from one industry to all industries turns each step of the process into an unstructured data processing problem. For example, having a parser that can only understand Cotsco receipts and a scraper that can only read the price from the Costco website is not enough anymore: you need a parser that can understand changing receipts from all enterprises and a scraper that can read information from any website. The ability to reason about unstructured data at scale replaces the rigid, static software, solving the issue.\n\n### In short, PAP! represents an opportunity to finally realize the dream customer journey — sign up once, forget we exist, and earn money effortlessly.\n\n# Our Team 👨‍👨‍👦\n\n* [Weijie](https://www.linkedin.com/in/wjwang2/) (CTO) spent 6 years in e-commerce and was the lead infra engineer for Wish’s recommendation system, the product that fueled their IPO. He was a Senior SWE at Bolt and StackAdapt. He graduated from Waterloo & UIUC.\n* [Kamal](https://www.linkedin.com/in/kamal-nahas/) (CEO) earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley, worked at Apple as a Security/ML software engineer intern, and met hundreds of engineers while working at Human Capital. He grew up in Lebanon, where he led operations resulting in 230+ families fed for an entire month and 25+ civilians housed.\n* [Anthony](https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthonyrassi/) (COO) graduated from USC in Computer Engineering and Computer Sciences and worked at Addepar as a software engineer intern. He also grew up in Lebanon, where he won a national hackathon, built a 5-figure affiliate marketing business, and led an engineering team at the country’s largest retailer.\n\n# Our Ask 🙏\n\n1. It works for reps instead of monitoring them.\n\n**The problem**\\\nHome services companies leave millions on the table every year because their reps are on their own in the field. No one is there to listen and help them improve. Most sales AI feels like Big Brother, so reps don't use it.\n\n**The solution**\\\nLadder works for reps. Reps love it because it helps them:\n\n* Earn more commission.\n* Handle busy work.\n* Generate more referrals.\n\nWe price based on outcomes, so we only get paid when reps use ladder to sell a project. \n\nLeading home services companies already trust Ladder across more than $100M in jobs.\n\n**Our ask**\\\nDo you know someone who runs sales at a home services company? We'd love an intro. Get in touch at [hey@ladderai.com](mailto:hey@ladderai.com).\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=119329&key=user_uploads/833145/05e6249a-fa16-4e0d-996a-0befe44fea04)\n\n",

The revenue was already there. It just walked out the back door.\r\n\r\nCactus closes that gap on both sides.\r\n\r\nInbound: Every call answered in under 60 seconds, 24/7 qualified and booked directly into Housecall Pro, Jobber, FieldEdge, or ServiceTitan. No voicemails. No missed jobs.\r\n\r\nOutbound: Warm leads, dormant customers, and unworked estimates get proactively contacted - driving repeat jobs, cross-sells, upsells, and referrals without adding headcount.\r\n\r\nThe result: 20–30% more jobs from the ad budget you're already spending.\r\n\r\nWhat that looks like in practice:\r\n\r\n→ Roofing company, NC | $299K collected in 10 weeks. $1.41M pipeline created. 199× ROI. $48K of that revenue came in after hours — while the office was closed.\r\n\r\n→ Plumbing & HVAC company, UT | $180K confirmed revenue in 4 months. 90× ROI. 58% of captured leads came after hours — jobs that would have gone to voicemail now go straight into the CRM.\r\n\r\n→ General contracting company | Grew from 11 jobs/month to 72 in a single month — 555% growth. $2.09M invoiced. $1.82M collected. Zero new hires.\r\n\r\n→ Roofing & siding company | $228K pipeline in 75 days. 92% of calls converted to hot leads. $804K in net sales during the Cactus period. 49 spam calls filtered automatically — hours of staff time saved.\r\n\r\n→ Commercial signage company | $398K pipeline generated in 10 weeks. 111× ROI on $3,597 invested. Grew from 0% to 30% share of total company pipeline in a single month.\r\n\r\nIf we don't add revenue, we don't stay. That's the only way this works.\r\n\r\nThe $150B home services industry is still running on voicemail and spreadsheets. We're building the system that changes that - one answered call at a time.",

After working with hundreds of small business owners, they saw a common problem: time spent on administrative tasks was keeping great service providers from growing their businesses.\r\n\r\nThey created Cactus to change that. Designed as an AI copilot for home service businesses, Cactus expands a company’s capacity without increasing headcount — helping owners scale faster, serve more customers, and operate with the efficiency of a much larger team.\r\n\r\nFounded by entrepreneurs, the mission is simple: to help home service businesses succeed and thrive, no matter their size. Cactus brings clarity, automation, and peace of mind to busy teams, removing daily bottlenecks so owners can focus on growth.\r\n\r\nFrom first call to booked job, Cactus delivers consistent, reliable experiences so businesses can win more work and build stronger customer relationships."

After co-founding Snipfeed, scaling it to 20+ people, and selling the company in 2024, we knew we wanted to build again together.\r\n\r\nThe idea for Bravi came from a very personal pain point: my family runs a shutter installation business in France, and I saw firsthand how many calls and leads were missed every day. On top of that, I launched a side business, Volet Dumont, selling shutters online, and experienced the same chaos with quoting and customer communication.\r\n\r\nWe realized installers were losing 30–40% of potential revenue just from slow follow-ups, missed calls, and disorganized workflows. With our background in automation and product scaling, we decided to tackle it head-on.\r\n\r\nThat’s how Bravi was born: combining our founder-market fit, validated by hundreds of conversations with installers, with the conviction that AI assistants could transform how home service companies capture and convert leads."

"body": "👋 We’re [Pierre-Habté](https://www.linkedin.com/in/pierre-habte-nouvellon/) & [Anas](https://www.linkedin.com/in/anas-bouassami/) from [Bravi (F25)](https://bravi.app/) and we are bulding AI voice and chat assistants for home service companies.\n\nyoutube.com/watch?v=Zl3jtIK_yco&feature=youtu.be\n\n**TL;DR:** Bravi builds **AI voice & chat assistants** for home service installers (shutters, solar, HVAC, carpentry) and manufacturers. We help them capture every lead, follow up instantly, and close more jobs.\n\n### **Problem**\n\n**Missed revenue**\n\nMost installers and manufacturers selling directly to consumers lose **30–40% of potential revenue** because they miss calls, don’t answer emails, and fail to respond to chats in time. Every unanswered lead is lost business.\n\n**Broken communication workflows**\n\nSales, admin, and field teams rely on **manual callbacks, scattered inboxes, and slow CRMs**, which makes it impossible to respond instantly or follow up consistently. That lag costs them real money.\n\n**Tools not made for them**\n\nGeneric chatbots and call centers don’t understand **home service workflows** — quotes, site visits, or product specs — leaving customers frustrated and companies unable to scale efficiently.\n\n### **Solution**\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=94602&key=user_uploads/231836/5c45980d-e8ee-4351-bb93-f7f115717a92)\n\nBravi fixes this with AI agents that:\n\n* **Answer calls & chats** 24/7\n* **Pre-qualify leads** (project type, urgency, location)\n* **Book** **callbacks** for the team\n* **Create tasks & reminders** for team members to ensure follow-through\n* **Generate** and **Send** **quotes** automatically\n\n### **Our Story**\n\nThis isn’t theory. We (Anas & Pierre) met at UC Berkeley in 2017. After co-founding and scaling our first startup to 20+ employees (acquired in 2024), we wanted to build again, this time in a space we knew personally.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=94602&key=user_uploads/231836/4bd905c2-fa8c-4c65-91dc-f0891a474e13)\n\nAnas grew up in a **family shutter installation business** and later launched an **online shutter e-commerce store** (Volet Dumont). Both showed us the same pain: installers drowning in leads, but losing 30–40% of potential revenue.\n\nThat’s how **Bravi** was born.\n\n### **🙏 Our Ask**\n\nIf you answer “yes” to any of these, we’d love your help:\n\n* Do you know **installers, manufacturers, or contractors** in home services (shutters, solar, HVAC, carpentry…) who struggle with missed calls or slow follow-ups?\n\n 👉 Invite them to test **Bravi** for free at [www.bravi.app](http://www.bravi.app)\n* Can you introduce us to **B2B2C manufacturers** selling directly to consumers who could benefit from AI assistants handling their inbound calls, chats, and emails 24/7?\n* Are you working with or know **digital agencies** or **industry partners** that build websites for installers and could integrate Bravi’s AI assistants into their clients’ sites?\n\n💬 We’d love to connect — every intro or feedback helps us make sure **no home service business ever loses a lead again**\n\n📩 Reach us anytime at [**anas@bravi.app**](mailto:anas@bravi.app)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=94602&key=user_uploads/231836/0ee0d771-04a0-4722-b59f-761dfd5ecbcf)\n\n",

"body": "Hey everyone 👋\n\nWe're Kyle and Kevin, co-founders of CentralComs.\n\n### **TLDR:**\n\n[CentralComs](https://centralcoms.com/) is an **AI receptionist and after-hours answering service** for home service businesses like **HVAC, plumbing, and electrical** companies. It answers the calls your office misses, books the appointment into your existing schedule, and then keeps following up on new leads, open estimates, and past customers until they book. **More of the leads you already pay for turn into jobs.**\n\n<https://youtu.be/iXSZrThZFOs>\n\n### **The Problem ❌**\n\n**Home service companies spend heavily to make the phone ring, then lose a chunk of that revenue before a technician ever shows up.**\n\nWhen the office is busy or closed:\n\n* After-hours and overflow calls go to voicemail\n* New leads sit for hours before anyone calls back\n* Open estimates never get a follow-up\n* Past customers are never reactivated\n* CSRs work callback lists by hand\n* Post-job happy calls happen only when someone remembers\n\nThe expensive part, generating demand, already happened. **The hard part is turning it into booked work.**\n\nMost tools fix one piece. Answering services take messages. VAs and extra CSRs add capacity, but they cost a lot to scale and rarely cover 24/7. Generic AI receptionists answer the phone and stop there.\n\n### **Solution ✅**\n\n**Part 1: AI receptionist and after-hours answering, 24/7**\n\nWhen your office can't pick up, CentralComs does. It answers after-d calls, figures out what the customer needs, qualifies the lead, answers routine questions, and **books the appointment into the schedule you already use**. It handles confirmations and reschedules, and it hands off any conversation that needs a human.\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=114503&key=user_uploads/1562583/82afad82-dec9-4460-b4f4-71c18fb5e736)\n\nIt works alongside the systems your team already uses, so you don'tont office gets 24/7 capacity without another hire.\n\n**Part 2: Automated lead follow-up and customer reactivation**\n\nBooking the first call is only the start. CentralComs keeps working customer hangs up:\n\n* **Speed-to-lead** follow-up on new inquiries\n* **Follow-up on estimates** that haven't closed\n* **Intent gauging**: ready to book, still deciding, or no longer inter\n* **Lead nurture** sequences\n* **Appointment reminders** and confirmations\n* Post-job **happy calls**\n* **Past-customer reactivation** and recontact for future service\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=114503&key=user_uploads/1562583/0331287a-0195-4998-ac9a-ef4b065e3052)\n\nNo CSR has to remember every callback, open quote, and old customer the agent more context on your services, business rules, and customers, so it handles more routine communication over time and passes the judgment calls back to your team.\n\n### **Our Team**\n\nWe're Kyle and Kevin, former UC Berkeley students and longtime AI builders. We’re children of landlords and are building a solution to a problem we saw all throughout our childhoods.\n\n**TL;DR**\n\nWe run property management workflows such as **leasing, back office, and maintenance coordination workflows from start to finish,** so PM teams run smoother and earn more with the same team size.\n\n<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3NjiCcbBNY>\n\n### **The Problem**\n\nProperty management operations are relentless, high-stakes, hands-on work built on relationships with owners, tenants, and vendors that take years to earn and seconds to lose.\n\nIt's overwhelmingly manual: **roughly 90% of the work is still manual** and extremely labor-intensive with **89% of property management companies outsourcing work** to teams overseas.\n\nAbout half of leasing inquiries come in at night and on weekends, when no one's answering. **Conversion drops 7x after the first hour**.\n\nUnresolved work orders are a top reason tenants don't renew, and **every lost renewal costs thousands** once you count turn and vacancy.\n\nThe work is rules-based and repetitive, but it demands constant attention, and missing any single step breaks the chain. That's why these roles scale so badly with headcount— you're paying for someone to be awake at the right moment to do menial tasks.\n\n---\n\n## **Our Solution**\n\n**Maintenance Coordination Agent** Takes a maintenance request from submission to resolution:\n\n* **Intake across any channel** — captures requests from email, SMS, and tenant portals, normalizing them into a single queue\n* **Intelligent triage** — applies a proprietary relative and objective scoring algorithm to prioritize and triage issues in real time as conditions change\n* **Smart dispatch** — routes to the right vendor based on trade, availability, and cost, sends the dispatch, and tracks confirmation\n* **Persistent follow-up** — chases vendors, tenants, and owners intelligently until the job is on track and on schedule\n* **Repair verification** — confirms work was actually completed via tenant sign-off, photo evidence, and vendor confirmation before closing the loop\n* **Invoice processing** — validates invoices against the scope of work and approved estimates, flags discrepancies, and routes for payment approval\n* **Owner & tenant updates** — keeps all parties informed at each milestone without manual outreach\n\n**Leasing Agent** Takes a prospect from first inquiry to complete application:\n\n* **Cross channel intake** — captures leads from listing syndication, email, SMS, web forms, and phone, normalizing them into a single queue\n* **Intelligent qualification** — applies a proprietary relative and objective scoring algorithm to qualify and prioritize prospects in real time as new information comes in\n* **Smart routing** — matches each lead to the right unit, schedules the tour, sends the application, and tracks completion\n* **Document analysis** — reviews submitted IDs, pay stubs, and bank statements, flagging income, completeness, and inconsistencies against your criteria\n* **Verification & screening** — runs identity verification and background/credit screening, then compiles a clean, decision-ready file\n* **Persistent follow-up** — chases prospects intelligently until they're marked qualified\n\n**What makes us different than traditional PMS systems?**\n\n* We handle can handle edge cases proactively, asking for more information, reading documents, and determining the best course of action\n* We don’t automate reply drafts, we send out messages, dispatch calls, retrieve missing information, and push stalled work-orders or application processes to completion.\n\n---\n\n## **Our Ask**\n\n**If you answer \"yes\" to any of these, we'd love your help:**\n\n* Do you know any residential property management operators whose teams are stretched thin, managing multiple systems just to keep up with maintenance and leasing?\n* Do you know any property management companies looking to scale operations without increased labor cost?\n\n**Contact**\n\nReach us at [**founders@centralcoms.com**](mailto:founders@centralcoms.com) or schedule a demo today at[ ](http://atlance.live/)[**centralcoms.com**](http://centralcoms.com)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=102115&key=user_uploads/1562583/02880dba-2cae-4e2a-9288-f8a2c236c96b)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=102115&key=user_uploads/1562583/190e0e55-e26c-4f6a-8957-e1be21c3f719)\n\n---",

"body": "Hey YC! 👋\n\nWe’re [Luca](https://www.linkedin.com/in/luca-hadife/) and [Hosny](https://www.linkedin.com/in/mohamed-hosny-hussein/), founders of [Kebra](https://kebra.com/?utm_source=ycombinator&utm_medium=launch&utm_campaign=yc_launch_2026).\n\n## TL;DR\n\nKebra makes the field queryable.\n\nWe capture what happens across jobs, sites, and assets and turn it into a live operating memory that AI can query and act on. Our AI employees use that context to automate the work that follows across the systems companies already use.\n\nEvery job makes that memory richer, building the company specific context software agents use today and physical agents will need tomorrow.\n\nWe’re already working with field operations companies across Florida, Pennsylvania, and California.\n\n<https://youtu.be/VIwv5iVm8Ok>\n\n## The problem\n\nField operations never got their Claude Code moment.\n\nWe spent months inside HVAC companies trying to automate their back office. We built AI employees for claims, reporting, coordination, and follow ups.\n\nThey kept breaking.\n\nNot because the AI could not do the work, but because it was acting on a reality that never happened. The most important part of the operation happened on the ground and was never properly captured.\n\nA missing serial number. A photo never taken. What the technician actually found stuck in their head.\n\nYou cannot automate an alternate reality. Before AI can operate the field, the field has to become queryable.\n\n## Our Solution\n\nKebra makes field operations queryable.\n\n**Capture what happens:** Field teams document jobs through photos, voice, video, and structured workflows. Kebra checks what is missing while they are still on site.\n\n**Build the operating memory:** Every job updates a live history of sites, assets, repairs, decisions, and how the company actually works.\n\n**AI employees act on it:** They use that context to automate reports, claims, coordination, compliance, follow ups, and other back office work across the systems the company already uses.\n\n## Vision\n\nEvery job makes Kebra’s operating memory richer.\n\nToday, software agents use that context to automate field operations. Tomorrow, physical AI and robots will need the same company specific context to understand each site, asset, procedure, and history before they can work autonomously.\n\nKebra is building the context layer for field operations.\n\n## Our Ask\n\nRun or know a company with field operations where important information gets lost between the field and the office?\n\nEmail us at [founders@kebra.com](mailto:founders@kebra.com) and [book a demo](https://calendar.app.google/s1DwDxHTbxZ9w5Uq6).\\\nFollow us on [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/kebra-com)",

"body": "**Bernard is building the AI front and back office for home and commercial appliance servicers.**\n\nThey manage each repair from the first customer call through scheduling, dispatch, diagnosis, parts preparation, technician handoff, and follow-up. Bernard works across phone, text, email, warranty feeds, and existing field-service systems, carrying the job context across every surface.\n\nWe are already live in the field with some of the largest authorized service companies in the country.\n\nOur goal is simple: make the first visit the last one.\\\n\\\n<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiGjkYMeu2k>\n\n### The first truck roll should not be a diagnostic visit\n\nAppliance repair is an information and inventory problem. A technician cannot simply carry washer parts. The exact appliance, model, revision, symptoms, and failure mode determine which parts might be required, and many nearly identical parts are not interchangeable.\n\nWhen that information does not come together before the appointment, the first visit becomes a diagnostic visit. The technician identifies the failure, orders the part, and returns days later to complete the repair. Customers wait longer, technicians complete fewer jobs, and servicers lose capacity and margin.\n\n### Pre-ID prepares the repair before the truck rolls\n\nWhen a customer reports that their washer will not drain, Bernard does more than book an appointment.\n\nBernard identifies the exact appliance, asks follow-up questions specific to the symptoms, and collects missing evidence from the customer. Pre-ID then combines that information with repair history, similar completed visits, manufacturer guidance, parts data, and the servicer’s own operating knowledge.\n\nBefore the visit, Bernard gives the technician a diagnosis, ranked parts, the most useful next questions, and the evidence supporting each recommendation. The office can prepare the parts, confirm they will arrive on time, and hand the technician a complete picture of the job.\n\nEvery interaction and completed repair feeds back into Bernard, turning the servicer’s daily work into shared knowledge.\n\n### Why start with the servicer?\n\nEvery appliance company makes a promise at the point of sale. The servicer is the person who ultimately has to keep that promise inside someone’s home or business.\n\nThat visit affects the customer, the retailer, the manufacturer, the warranty company, and the parts distributor. Yet the servicer coordinating it is often working across disconnected phone systems, inboxes, scheduling tools, parts catalogs, and knowledge held by a few experienced employees.\n\nWe believe that building the world’s most efficient appliance servicers will create happier customers and a more connected appliance ecosystem.\n\nBernard starts with the servicer because that is where the industry meets the physical world.\n\n### About us\n\n[Dan Katzman](https://www.linkedin.com/in/dankatzman/) previously helped build Nava Benefits' strategy and operations team, working across the product and operational infrastructure required to deliver a complicated, service-heavy experience reliably, while also leading partnerships. Before Nava, he invested at City Light Capital and Golub Capital.\n\n[David Goodfellow](https://www.linkedin.com/in/dgoodfellow/) grew from product engineer to engineering manager at Radar Labs, where he led fraud and geo-compliance products and helped replace the incumbent provider at DraftKings and Bet365. Before that, he worked on RPA and cognitive automation at Disney, before enterprise automation was cool.\n\n### Talk to us\n\nIf you run an appliance service company or lead service operations at an appliance manufacturer, retailer, warranty company, or service network, reach out to us at [founders@bernardhq.com](mailto:founders@bernardhq.com)\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=111388&key=user_uploads/3076324/2cf911ba-3755-4320-a8b0-e809cf265e3c)\n\n",

With the home market bleeding, you'll find attorneys processing documents by hand with outdated software at title agencies. Vestris automates the back office and supplements processors the way software should — _letting shops give the same care to closing the biggest purchase of a buyer's life._\n\n<https://youtu.be/u2do97AOvQY?si=JB78OAx5hDp80PXT>\n\n### The Problem\n\nImagine you're shopping the market and you just found your dream home. You're ready to purchase, the contract is signed, everything is in place.\n\nAnd you're recommended a settlement company, and told to buy title insurance.\n\nMost homeowners couldn't tell you what title insurance actually buys them. In a nutshell: **you're paying for the peace of mind that the property you're buying has no open claims against it** — payments a title company makes on your behalf.\n\nBut it's also a process that takes weeks. Behind the phone, you've got lawyers processing files, manually checking emails, and scanning two seemingly identical documents for changes.\n\nMeanwhile, the incumbent software is a decade-old, per-file database whose premium plans put it out of reach for the small and mid-size shops that make up most of the market.\n\n### The Solution\n\nVestris runs the file end to end:\n\n**Reads everything on arrival** — every document that hits a processor's inbox is routed to the right order, new contracts spin up new files, and the routine back-and-forth is handled, so the first 30% of a file is done before a human even looks.\n\n**Does the math** — logs into county tax and land portals to pull up-to-date figures, then prorates taxes, utilities, HOA dues, and special assessments to the settlement date on that county's convention, every figure traced back to its source.\n\n**Drafts the commitment** — building Schedule A from the vesting and legal description and Schedule B from the exceptions in the record, the work a small shop waits a week and pays an abstractor hundreds for.\n\n**Closes it out** — reconciling the closing disclosure against the settlement statement, handling the lender back-and-forth, and showing the processor exactly what changed, so no one's squinting at two seemingly identical PDFs.\n\nEvery step still goes through human approval. What changes is bandwidth: **a mom-and-pop shop never has to turn down an order because they're swamped**, and they get to spend their time on the in-person care that made buyers seek them out in the first place.\n\n### The Team\n\nWe're Aahil and Josh, best friends and UMich roommates.\n\nAahil previously built SafeKids and holds three USPTO patents. He spent the summer closing files at a title shop, seeing the processor's grind firsthand.\n\nJosh previously built live-telemetry and communication systems for Michigan's Formula SAE team. He worked the same title desk, and stole the cubicle with the monitor 😠\n\n![uploaded image](/media/?type=post&id=109429&key=user_uploads/3411947/af48be0b-23b2-4cb5-9c1c-4eb5c7b45e50)\n\n### Our Ask\n\nWe're running Vestris in parallel at a title shop that settles millions in deals a month.\n\nIf you know anyone at **a title agency, escrow, or settlement company** — we'd love an intro.\n\nAnd if you've ever bought or sold a home, reach out! You probably have strong feelings about the title process :)\n\nYou can reach us at [founders@vestris.ai](mailto:founders@vestris.ai), or better yet, give us a call at +1 (571) 466 7878.",
